Facebook ‘guests’ surprise German girl

Within hours of a party being announced on Facebook, 15,000 people had responded.

After the 16-year-old German girl realised it was listed as ‘public’ on the social networking site, she deleted the event.

Many partygoers ignored the cancellation and showed up anyway.

Fourteen hundred people made it look more like a summer music festival than a suburban birthday party – and all thanks to the power of social media.
