US commits funds to drugs war

About two-thirds of drugs that enter the US shipped from South America pass through Central America.

The United States has pledged extra money to Central American efforts to combat drugs gangs.

The funds were announced during a meeting of 12 regional and donor countries in Guatemala in the wake of a rise in violence across the region.
