Misurata, the Libyan port city situated in the country’s west, has been a scene to one of the worst fighting since the rebellion against Muammar Gaddafi started more than two months ago.
Al Jazeera has obtained exclusive access to the city’s airport from where Gaddafi forces used to launch attacks on the nearby city and port.
The airport is now under opposition control after NATO air strikes reduced much of the government firepower and fighter jets to rubble.
Al Jazeera’s Tony Birtley has this report.
