Iceland split over repayment plan
Voters decide on new proposal to compensate UK and Dutch governments for money lost by depositors.

Icelanders are voting on whether to approve a new plan to repay Britain and the Netherlands for money lost after the collapse of a major Icelandic bank in 2008.
The UK and Dutch government compensated savers who lost money from their online “Icesave” accounts, run by Landsbanki, to the tune of more than $5bn.
A referendum on a similar repayment plan last year resulted in a resounding “no”, and voters today are still divided on the issue.
