Analysing ‘al-Qaeda’ arrests in Germany
Case underlines difficulty in striking balance between civil liberties and security, analyst says.

Three suspected al-Qaeda members arrested in Germany were allegedly working on a bomb to target a crowded area, authorities in the country say.
The suspects – who are of Moroccan and Iranian origin – were said to have been making a shrapnel-laden device before they were detained.
James Denselow, a security analyst, told Al Jazeera’s Felicity Barr how the case in Germany underlines the difficulty in striking a balance between civil liberties and security.
