Pakistan’s gang-rape victim vows to fight on

Mukhtar Mai talks about court verdict acquitting men accused of sexually abusing her.

Last week, Pakistan’s highest court acquitted five of the six men accused of gang-raping Mukhtar Mai, citing lack of evidence.

Elders in her village in Punjab province ordered the assault as punishment for her brother’s alleged illicit relationship with a woman.

But Mukhtar Mai, discussing how she feels about the court decision, tells Al Jazeera’s Imtiaz Tyab she will continue to fight for justice.
