Japan’s bullet train resumes service
Reconnection of rail network’s Tokyo-Sendai line expected to speed up tsunami-hit region’s reconstruction.

Getting the iconic train getting back on the rails is seen as a symbol of the gathering momentum of reconstruction across areas devastated by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami of March 11.
The operator has partially restored services on the Tohoku Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Sendai in northern Japan – the first time in 45 days – a sure sign that the island nation is trying rebuild their lives in the wake of recent destruction.
