Dozens of deposed Ivorian leader Laurent Gbagbo’s staff who were captured along with him in Abidjan on Monday have been released.

Members of Alassane Ouattara’s government, the internationally recognised president of Ivory Coast, say that some 30 of Gbagbo’s domestic staff have now returned home, while 38 of his family members have been taken to an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, forces loyal to Ouattara have been working to clear Abidjan, the country’s commercial capital, of illegal weapons, though some residents allege they have also been entering homes and killing Gbagbo supporters.
