Study reveals stillbirths as a global problem
The data show that the major burden of stillbirth is carried by world’s poorest countries.

Every day more than three thousand women around the world go into labour, only to suffer the heartbreak of a stillbirth.
Now a new study by a leading medical journal, that revealed that every year 2.6m babies die in the last 12 weeks of pregnancy, shows just how widely the problem has been overlooked.
Al Jazeera’s Charlie Angela reports from London.
