Britain ‘wanted al-Megrahi freed’
Report says last government did all it could to help Libya win Lockerbie bomber’s release.

Britain’s previous government did all it could to help Libya win the release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the man convicted of the 1998 Pan Am Lockerbie bombing, according to a new report from the country’s most senior civil servant.
The former London-based Labour administration has always insisted that the decision was made entirely by officials in Scotland.
