Deadly attack hit Afghanistan''s south

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said that a Pakistan-based armed group carried out a series of attacks that killed 59 people.

Most of the dead in on Tuesday’s attacks were pilgrims marking Ashoura, the holiest day on Shia Islam’s calendar. The organisation is known to be anti-Shia, and has been linked to al-Qaeda armed group, Karzai said.
