Big lift for Colombian slum

One of country’s poorest areas now has an outdoor escalator as tall as a 28-storey building.

For some residents of the Colombian city of Medellin, a trip to the city centre meant a long, dangerous trek through one of the city’s most violent areas.

Now, at an eye-popping height of 384 metres, a new escalator project has changed that difficult journey.
