Honduras army takes on drug gangs

Government deploys the military across the country to confront organised crime and drug traffickers.

Activists have raised concerns about potential human rights abuses after the Honduran army was deployed out on the streets to fight drug cartels in an effort to curb violence in the country.

Honduras has the highest murder rate in the world – amid increasing drug-related violence.
