India’s New Delhi is a century old

No official ceremonies are planned to commemorate move by George V, then Emperor of India, to make Delhi the capital.

On 12 December 1911, George V, then Emperor of India, announced that the capital would be moved from Calcutta [now Kolkata] to Delhi.

While no official ceremonies are planned to commemorate a colonial landmark, Sohail Rahman reports on how the city has changed since then.
