Polling in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been extended into its third day amidst calls by opposition leaders for results to be annulled due to allegations of vote-rigging.

But the disputed election is not the country’s only challenge. In the east, the army is struggling to integrate hundreds of thousands of rebel fighters as part of a peace deal.
