DRC army attempts to integrate former rebels

As disputed poll continues, army struggles to integrate hundreds of thousands of rebel fighters in east.

Polling in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been extended into its third day amidst calls by opposition leaders for results to be annulled due to allegations of vote-rigging.

But the disputed election is not the country’s only challenge. In the east, the army is struggling to integrate hundreds of thousands of rebel fighters as part of a peace deal.

Al Jazeera’s Peter Greste reports about the challenges of the integration process from Sake.
