Climate talks commence in Durban

Up to 25,000 people, including 7,000 delegates from 194 nations, have gathered for United Nations-backed climate change talks in the South African port city of Durban.

Following previous meeting Copenhagen and Cancun, expectations for any comprehensive deals on global greenhouse emissions are low. Once again, a divide between rich and poor nations appears to be widening.
