Pakistan dam project faces funding crisis

Once completed, the facility on Indus River will produce four times the energy of a nuclear power plant.

Work has begun on a massive dam project in Pakistan. The $12bn Diamer Bhasha Dam has already forced the re-location of thousands of residents but its problems do not end there.

The government faces a new problem with its most ambitious project in over five decades – a lack of funding and investments.
