How Saif al-Islam charmed the West
Gaddafi’s son was once seen by former European friends as the “acceptable” face of Libya’s regime.

World leaders and rights groups have called for Saif al-Islam, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, to be given a fair trial after his capture by National Transitional Council fighters in the south of Libya.
Yet, if Saif al-Islam is brought before a court in Libya or abroad, he is likely to disclose information that many leaders might find uncomfortable.
