Calvin Gibbs soldier abuse Afghanistan

US soldier, staff sergeant Calvin Gibbs, has been found guilty of leading what he described as a ‘kill team’ in Afghanistan.

Gibbs was convicted on 15 charges, including murder and conspiracy, after he led a rogue unit of the 5th Stryker Brigade in the premeditated killing of unarmed Afghan civilians last year.

He was also found guilty of beating a soldier who reported hashish use to superiors and of military code violations for cutting fingers off bodies as war trophies.
