Libyans hope for best after conflict

Tripoli residents discuss priorities as north African nation begins post-war reconstruction.

Libyans have mixed feelings about the transitional period as the country tries to heal from the NATO-aided conflict that ended in Muammar Gaddafi’s ouster.

The interim government has a clear mandate: crafting a new constitution, organising elections and paving the way for a new Libya.

But people have a long list of priorities such as safety and security, education and stimulating trade and commerce.

Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra spoke to residents in Tripoli.
