Bangkok floodwaters force difficult decision

Despite government claims of being in control, rising waters have left many in Thailand stranded.

As floodwaters breach Bangkok’s domestic airport, residents of the capital and nearby Thai cities are being forced to make difficult decisions.

The government has allocated a $7.3bn fund for flood-hit businesses, but with water engulfing people’s homes, businesses and crops many are left stranded.

Some among those who can relocate fear for their belongings and remain in their flood-affected homes. Al Jazeera’s Wayne Hay reports from Bangkok.
