Taiwan nervous over US fighter jets snub

Taiwanese officials have voiced serious concerns over a US decision not to sell their government new and more powerful F-16 fighter jets.

Critics have accused the US of backing down on its vow to help protect Taiwan and bowing to pressure from Beijing, which considers the island part of Chinese territory.

Al Jazeera’s Steve Chao has obtained exclusive access to Taiwan’s F-16 programme.
