Malta struggles to treat Libya war victims

Valletta calls for international help to deal with the soaring numbers of injured fighters.

Malta has received many medical casualties of the Libyan war.

But despite assistance from Qatar, the island country’s 800-bed general hospital cannot keep up with the soaring numbers of injured fighters.

Malta is now calling on the US and the rest of the international community to send a hospital ship to meet the soaring medical needs.

Al Jazeera’s Karl Stagno-Navarra reports from the capital, Valletta.
