Pros and cons of US free-trade deals

Critics say agreements result in job losses and ignore labour-rights problems in the partner countries.

The US congress has approved free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama, ending a four-year drought in the forming of new trade partnerships.

Supporters of the deals say it will help stimulate the economy and put more than 20,000 people back to work in the US.

However, there are fears it will not be good for all concerned.
