China’s Hu visits Washington

The US president has toasted his Chinese counterpart during a state dinner at the White House, after the two leaders signed off on trade deals worth $45bn.
But while business is dominating Hu Jintao’s visit to Washington, he also made a rare acknowledgement that China needs to do more to improve human rights.
