Indonesia faces chilli shortage
Skyrocketing prices of the commodity have hit a population that loves spicy food.

Chilli prices in Indonesia have jumped over the past few months, with some varieties costing up to $11 per kg – a hefty amount for a commodity that is enjoyed by a people that generally like their food as spicy as they can get it.
The skyrocketing prices have prompted food vendors to cut back on their use of chillies and a major shortage across the country.
