For the cattle-herders of Uganda’s Karamoja region, a new system is keeping home fires burning.

It is a pilot UNICEF scheme to produce biogas for cooking stoves. It is hoped that the technology can be scaled up across the region as a source of fuel that could help reduce the strain on the environment.
