Afghanistan is voting for a new parliament against a backdrop of heavy security following Taliban threats to derail the election.

The group’s fighters have distributed leaflets warning people to stay away from polling stations and there have already been assassinations, kidnappings and intimidation.

Al Jazeera’s Sue Turton asked the Kabul’s security chief how he hopes to avoid further bloodshed.
