After Hurricane Katrina destroyed thousands of homes in the US states of Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005, the US government handed over billions of dollars to help with the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

In Mississippi, thousands of temporary homes were allocated to those displaced by the disaster.

But now, after over $500m were diverted from the housing programme to instead reconstruct a port in the state, the possibility of eviction is looming for some.

Al Jazeera’s Catherine Turner reports from Mississippi on how victims of the hurricane are still struggling five years after the disaster.
