Unifil ‘unpopular’ in Lebanon

Civilians growing increasingly wary of foreign troops keeping peace at border.

It has been four years since the UN-brokered ceasefire ended Israel’s war in Lebanon.

The United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (Unifil) monitor the border to maintain the peace.

But local residents are becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the foreign soldiers.
