Ash covers Guatemalan coffee farms
Coffee farmers struggle to make a living after volcanic eruption destroyed crops in May.

The eruption of Guatemala’s Pacaya volcano in May threw ash and volcanic rocks over Guatemala City, the country’s capital, and surrounding cities.
Some of Guatemala’s highest quality coffee is grown around Pacaya, which has been continuously active since the 1960s.
Two months after the eruption, coffee farmers who live at the foot of the volcano are still suffering the worst effects and say it is the most devastating disaster they have experienced in years.
