Russia’s growing Aids epidemic

Experts are gathering in Vienna for six days of intense talks on curbing the spread of HIV-Aids.

At least 30,000 researchers, policymakers and grass roots activists will attend the annual conference and this year the focus will be on finding ways to deliver the right kind of medical care at the lowest possible cost.

The conference puts Russia and Eastern Europe in the spotlight, where the epidemic is growing from heroin use.
