The case of Shahram Amiri, an Iranian scientist who claims he was abducted and torturedby the US, has given rise to speculation about the truth behind his story.

The Washington Post newspaper says Amiri was paid $5 millionfor some of Iran’s nuclear secrets.

Other reports suggest he could be a double agent.
