Turkey censors the internet

There is mounting concern in Turkey about government censorship of the internet, and some are comparing Ankara’s policies to those in Iran and China.

An internet rights group has launched a legal challenge against a government ban on the video website Youtube.

YouTube and Google are among the thousands of sites that have been blocked by authorities, raising questions about free speech in a country that’s trying to join the European Union.
