US commander in Afghanistan rebuked and summoned over comments.

General Stanley McChrystal, the top US and Nato commander in Afghanistan, has been rebuked by Barack Obama, the US president, and summoned to Washington to explain comments he made about senior administration officials, including his commander-in-chief.
There are reports in the US media that McChrystal has offered to resign but Obama has said he wants to speak directly with the general before making any decision.
