UN aid reaches Kyrgyz city

Much need relief supplies arrive against a backdrop of continued ethnic tensions in Osh.

Kyrgyzstan violence

There have been more claims of ethnic violence in Kyrgyzstan as rights groups say that at least four people were killed when Kyrgyz forces raided an ethnic Uzbek village near Osh, the main city in the country’s south.

However, the government says two people died when troops encountered “armed resistance”.

Osh witnessed the worst of the bloody violence earlier this month.

Amid the lingering tensions, aid from the United Nations is arriving to help those living in the the worse-affected areas.
