Attacks flare in Baghdad

Scores killed in second attack on banks in a week.

iraq blasts

At least 27 people have been killed in twin car bombings in Baghdad in attacks targeting the state-run Trade Bank of Iraq.

More than 50 others were injured.

The attacks come just one week after gunmen stormed the country’s Central Bank.

The bombings and casualties are the worst in the Iraqi capital in over a month and there is a feeling among many in Baghdad that the longer the politicians take to form a new government, the more deadly attacks there will be.
