Jordan patients battle for justice
Allegations of medical negligence show marked increase with victims seeking compensation.

Jordan is known for its advanced and high-quality medical services, but a recent increase in allegations of medcial negilgence has dented the reputation of the country’s healthcare system.
Last year, Jordan’s ministry of health said it had received about 3,000 complaints related to negligence.
Now, victims of botched operations are calling for compensation in court and a change in the law.
Al Jazeera’s Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from the capital, Amman, on the struggle of patients seeking justice. Viewers should note her report contains graphic pictures of surgery being performed.
