Germany’s Merkel backs strong euro
German chancellor tells Al Jazeera that shared currency will remain dependable.

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, has insisted that the euro will remain a strong and dependable currency.
In an interview with Al Jazeera’s Jane Dutton, Merkel said that Germany would work towards supporting the shared currency by cutting eurozone budget deficits.
