In the lawless south of the country, farmers are growing opium and cannabis instead of traditional crops with local police and politicians allegedly cashing in on the trade. 

But there are victims too. 

Hamish Macdonald gained rare access to both the producers and users, in what’s fast becoming Nepal’s ‘drug capital’ – the town of Birgunj.
