22 May 2010: An Air India Express Flight 812 crashes at Mangalore’s Bajpe airport, killing 158 people. There were just eight survivors from 166 passengers and crew on board the flight from Dubai.
17 May 2010: A Pamir Airways flight with 38 passengers and five crew members on board crashes in remote mountains between Kabul and Kunduz, killing all people on board.
12 May 2010: Airbus 330 belonging to Libya’s Afriqiyah Airways crashes while trying to land near Tripoli airport from South Africa, killing more than 100 people.
10 April 2010: Plane carrying Polish president, his wife and 94 others – including much of Poland’s political establishment – crashes in western Russia, killing all on board.
25 January 2010: An Ethiopian Airlines passenger jet crashes into the sea with 89 people on board shortly after take-off from Beirut.
15 July 2009: A Caspian Airlines Tupolev plane crashes in the north of Iran en route to Armenia. All 168 passengers and crew are reported dead.
30 June 2009: Plane belonging to Yemeni state airline crashes off Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros with 153 people on board. A 13-year-old girl survives.
1 June 2009: Air France Airbus plane travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris disappears in the Atlantic with 228 people on board.
20 May 2009: Indonesian army C-130 Hercules transport plane crashes into a village on eastern Java, killing at least 97 people.
12 February 2009: Plane crashes into a house in Buffalo, New York, killing all 49 people on board and one person on the ground.
