May 12, 2010: Seven children and two adults are stabbed to death at a kindergarten in Shaanxi province.
April 30: Five children are injured in a school in Fujian province after a man attacks them with an iron hammer before burning himself to death.
April 29: A man attacks children with a knife used to slaughter pigs, injuring 29, in Jiangsu province.
April 28: A teacher who had been on sick leave since 2006 for mental problems injure at least 15 pupils and a teacher in a knife attack at a primary school in Guangdong province.
April 12: A man kills a second grader and an elderly woman near an elementary school in the southern Guangxi region, a day before he was to be sent to hospital for psychological treatment.
March 23: A doctor stabs to death eight children outside their elementary school in Fujian province.
March 2, 2009: Two pre-schoolers are killed and others injured at a primary school in Guangdong province.
February 24, 2008: A former student at the Leizhou No 2 Middle School in Guangdong kills a two students before killing himself.
June, 2007: An attacker breaks into a primary school in Guangdong and kills one child.
May 24, 2006: A man hacks a neighbour to death in Henan province before taking 19 elementary school students hostage and killing one.
November 25, 2004: Nine boys are stabbed to death in a high school dormitory in Henan.
August 4, 2004: A part-time gatekeeper at a Beijing kindergarten kills one child and slashes 14 others and three teachers.
