The United Nations is due to convene a two-week forum on the situation facing the world’s indigenous people.
Hundreds of indigenous representatives from all over the world are expected to attend.
Guatemala has one of the highest indigenous populations in Latin America. But after centuries of persecution, they remain some of the poorest in the region.
