Suu Kyi has heart check-up

She is currently being detained at her lakeside villa where she is believed to have monthly medical checks from her doctor.

She receives few other outside visitors.

Last May, during her detention at Yangon’s Insein prison, her National League for Democracy (NLD) party said it was “very concerned” for her health.

At the time she was being held in the jail facing trial over an incident in which an uninvited American man swam to her home.

Following that trial she was sentenced to a further term of house arrest, which is due to expire at the end of this year.
