Economists are debating whether the country is in the throws of a so-called “jobless recovery”.
That is when other sectors of the economy begin to grow, but unemployment remains high.
Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds went to a labour rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and found out-of-work Americans who are furious at being left behind.
