Al Jazeera has gained access to a man who claims he was one of the gunmen involved in last November’s massacre in the southern Philippines.
Now in hiding and seeking witness protection in exchange for his testimony, the man, known as “Jesse”, says he was ordered to take part in the killings by the head of the powerful Ampatuan clan.
And, with a bounty on his own head, he says the killings did not end with the massacre itself.
Al Jazeera’s Marga Ortigas reports from Manila.
