US and Israeli officials have said there is no serious tensions between the close allies, but the disagreement over illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem may have led to a policy dispute inside the White House.
Despite the official denials the settlement dispute is growing into an issue that is reportedly dividing opinions within the Obama administration.
