Afghan Taliban ‘eyeing expansion’

Officials say group is seeking to expand base into Central Asian countries.

Increasing attacks by Taliban fighters against Afghan guards in the Kunduz province – which sits along the border with Tajikstan – suggests a new ambition for the group.

According to authorities in both countries, the Taliban are trying to expand their base into Central Asian countries.
