Thailand is bracing for a court ruling on Friday which could play a key role in shaping the country’s political landscape.

Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister ousted in a military coup in 2006, is set to find out if he has lost a large chunk of his fortune over corruption charges.

Whichever way the supreme court decides, fears are growing that the ruling could lead to violence.
