Greece tightens immigration control

Pan-European police deployed to Greece-Turkey border in bid to stem illegal immigration.

Of the many thousands of people caught trying to enter the EU illegally each year, some 90 per cent are no Greece’s borders.

In September and October between 100 and 350 people were believed to have been illegally crossing the land border between Greece and Turkey every day.

In a bid to control the situation, a multi-national police force has been deployed to patrol the Greece-Turkey border.

Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Phillips reports from the border.
